Sustainability

Sustain-ability: the capacity to continue, support, perpetuate.
Yes, it is a long word and yes it is too often used and therefore seems to lose its sense.

Yet Sustainability is based on the scientific fact that all human life and activity (including economy) occurs within the limitations of planet Earth.
The notion of sustainability is at least 30 years old, appearing in the Brundtland report  in 1987 as “sustainable development is a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

Since, more and more people have been researching and experimenting with what sustainability looks like. The most solid framework now widely recognized has been developed by The Natural Step.
